MASH follows the story of Hero, a nine-year-old girl who finds freedom from her troubled home life in her local scrap yard. This is where her treasured, dilapidated van is hidden – a secret den which can transport Hero to faraway places. And yet this time, the den feels different and unfamiliar; gradually Hero realises she belongs in her real life with her family, rather than a fantasy on her own.
