Production design project
Brief: Make an adaption of Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 version of Romeo + Juliet
Final design: Capulet’s mansion, set in 1966 Los Angeles, California. Capulet is based on French New Wave director Jean-Luc Godard, while Montague is based on François Truffeaut.
The design of the house is heavily inspired by architect Richard Neutra, and if a location in London was to be used in real life, it would be the old Design Museum building on Shad Thames.
